RELEASE SUMMARY
This release of Ranger Remote Control 10.5.2 delivers new and improved features to compliment the extensive range of existing functionality and is recommended for all users. Please see the detail descriptions below for details.

HARDWARE & SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
General
•   Internet Explorer 5 service pack 2 or above.
Control and Client (depending on Network protocol)
•   Windows 2000/2003/2008/XP, Windows Vista and 7.
•   35Mbytes free disk space for Student only installation.
•   90Mbytes free disk space for full installation.
•   TCP/IP.
•   Thin Client Support for Windows and Citrix Terminal Services as well as support for virtual desktop environments from NComputing (X-series & L-series), MiniFrame (SoftXpand) and many others

NEW FEATURES IN THIS RELEASE
•   Audio Monitoring. Monitor the entire class in a single view and with the use of the displayed visual indicators see instantly which PCs have live audio activity.
•   Manage Student Resources. The Student Toolbar now provides a quick and convenient way for students to access the resources required for a given lesson.
•   Connect To Students In Room. Quickly connect to the machines in a given room.
•   Browse and Connect Performance. A new configuration option, ‘Accelerate Browse’, dramatically improves browse and connect performance.
•   Student Thumbnails can now be sized using a flexible slide-bar enabling you to make better use of the space available on the Tutor screen. Thumbnails can also be viewed ‘full-screen’ by pressing F11.
•   Terminal Server Support.
•   Classroom Layouts. Can now lock and print layouts.
•   Start-up Options. Access levels and restrictions for Ranger Remote Control features can now be defined at start-up, ensuring they come into force as soon as the Tutor is started.

ERROR CORRECTIONS
•   Reduced the amount of memory used at the Tutor for student application and web history. Depending on the size of the class, this had the potential to cause low memory conditions at the Tutor.
•   TCP Port number support restored to the Application and Web restrictions list
•   Fixes a problem running the client32 service on terminal services where there was the potential for more than one terminal session to load with the same port number.
•   Fixes a problem in the Test Player associated with reviewing results to compare the answer provided against the correct answer.
•   Fixes a problem playing replay files that include audio content.
•   Fixed a problem associated with changing score values in the Test Console.
•   Default Port allocation for terminal server sessions is using reserved port numbers
•   When 'Showing an Application' from the tutor to the students you are kicked out your TS session.
•   Error logging off 2008 Terminal Server Faulting application client32.exe, version 10.60.0.384, time stamp 0x4aba5eb9, faulting module USER32.dll
•   When logging out the TS machine attempting to perform a show locks up the TS
•   Classroom Control changes for version 10.50   
•   GPF (?) on Windows 7 after deploying to students
•   GPF (?) when switching on audio monitoring if tutor machine has no audio card installed
•   windows Explorer crashed with Data Execution Prevention
